Couples Therapy That Focuses on Real Change

If your marriage feels stuck, disconnected, or weighed down by the same painful patterns, marriage counseling in Atlanta can help. Maybe you’re having the same argument on repeat. Maybe you’re walking on eggshells to avoid conflict, or no matter what you say, you don’t feel heard.

You’re not alone, and you’re not broken. More often than not, you’re caught in a cycle that’s wearing you both down. I help couples understand what’s happening beneath the surface and start rebuilding.

What I Work On in Marriage Counseling

My approach to couples therapy is practical and focused on results. This isn’t endless venting. It’s a structured process toward real change. In marriage counseling, I’ll help you:

  • Identify the patterns keeping you stuck
  • Improve how you communicate
  • Clarify unspoken needs and expectations
  • Create concrete strategies to help you reconnect
  • Set realistic goals so progress never feels vague

Whether you’re dealing with conflict, emotional distance, or a major life transition, I’ll give you the tools to move forward together.

Meet Your Atlanta Marriage Counselor, Daniel Gopin, LPC

I’m Daniel Gopin, a licensed couples and family therapist in Atlanta. I hold a Master’s in Clinical Counseling from Johns Hopkins University and have been practicing since 2015.

Whether you call it marriage counseling, couples therapy, or relationship counseling, my style is the same: compassionate, direct, and results-oriented. I don’t believe in endless talking in circles. I’ll tell you what I’m seeing, ask the questions that get to the real issue, and help you both leave each session with something concrete to work on.

FAQ

They overlap. Couples counseling covers any two partners working on their relationship, whether dating, engaged, or married. Marriage counseling is for married couples, often when things feel more urgent. Either way, the approach is practical, structured, and focused on real change.

Most sessions are done together, since the goal is to change how you communicate as a pair. Over the course of treatment, I do meet with individual partners as well. We will discuss this in greater detail prior to our meeting.

Typical sessions are 90 minutes.
